Monitor Panel Voltmeter

The system panel on the front of the range hood on many Rexhall is custom manufactured by JRV Products.  I noticed that on mine there was an area on the left side approximately 1½ " wide by 1¼"  high that was a knockout made for a meter.  I contacted JRV at www.jrvproductsinc.com and sure enough they had a small DC voltmeter kit to mount in the knockout.  If I remember correctly, the kit was somewhere around $20.00 and they also included a schematic of the LED system panel.

Disconnect the AC and house battery(s).  The panel is removed by carefully slipping a table knife blade under the lower edge of the monitor panel and snapping the edge of the panel up.  Be careful not to break off the tabs on the top edge of the panel.  I used a sharp knife to cut out the foil in the area where the meter installs.  Connect to the 12 Volt buss as shown on their instructions.  Replace panel and restore power.  The meter reads 12 Volt DC from the house battery(s) but will not read the 12 volt from the original Magnetek converter.  I upgraded my Magnetek 6345 series to the 7345RU which gives clean 12 volt output.

Note: The voltage shown in the photo is with the coach engine running.
