Wringing out the sewer hose

I carry my sewer hose coiled up in a shallow plastic tray.  This holds in any rinse water that may drain out during travel.  It works well.

But I have noticed that when I push it into it’s most compact (short) form to make it fit into the tray, it drains more.

So I figured that when it is stretched out, the rinse water collects in the folds of the pleats and when it is pushed together, the pleats are “wrung out” of water.

So now after rinsing the sewer hose, I hold one end up in the air, leaving the other end in the dump pipe, and starting at the top, push the folds or pleats together, then move down the hose a foot and compress the next foot together.  When I get all the way to the bottom, I get quite a bit of rinse water draining out, and a lot less draining out into my plastic tray.
