Extra Cigarette lighters
(not for extra cigarettes)

As RV accessories become more commonplace, so does the need for more power outlets. The phone, computer, electronic compass, GPS, CD player, map light, battery charger, coffee warmer all need a power socket to run them or to extend battery life.

Of course there are those lighter plugs which have two or three female sockets to plug into, but in addition to being unsightly, they stick out several inches, and keep getting bumped or broken. Then I noticed a friends new car that had an extra power socket. “Cool” I thought.

So I went to my discount store and found a double plug receptacle with wires and a fuse. After lifting up the dash, I easily spliced into 12 volt power. The new dual sockets mounted best under the right side of the dash, adjacent to the engine dog house, facing the copilot. They are inconspicuous, and the cords tuck under the dash. We can now run 3 devices at once. Of course we don’t have that many, but hey, we can grow into it. (we did)

The Company says good idea, we will plan it for futures coaches. That may not help you and me. Again this is easy to do for the handy, but should be very inexpensive for your local RV technician to install for you.
