Driver’s Door Latch
We
added additional security locks on our driver’s door. One is a pin, normally
used on a sliding glass door. The other latch keeps the upper part of the door
from
vibrating while traveling. Reduces wind noise also. Both are
available from home improvement stores.

Driver's
door top lock. The Rexhall shop in Lancaster installed a cabinet tapered lock on
the upper part on this door to reduce wind noise, but it is impossible to latch
without using 2 hands ( hard to do going down the road!). So I turned it around,
raised the bar the latch catches on with washers, so that the tapered latch is
mounted on the door frame - the bar on the coach frame. This way, I can lock the
latch "on the run", plus the taper now works to pull the door tight. They don't
think of these things in the factory - you have to drive the rig to appreciate
these tricks.
