Removing the accordion bedroom door.

There are those who occasionally travel with friends or relatives in their RV. But many of us almost never do. Depending on your level of comfort in your pajamas, you might want to consider removal of the bedroom accordion door.

If you have a Rexhall with a queen bed, you may be able to squeeze between the mattress and the back of the bathroom wall satisfactorily. If you happen to have a king, or if you have a bedroom slide, particularly if you are forced to sleep with the slide in, you will find the space between the mattress and the bathroom wall a tight fit.

Removing the accordion door will only give about 3 more inches, but they do make a significant difference. It is easy to do, and the door can be replaced easily as well.

When the door is partially closed, there are several screws holding it to the bathroom wall. These are removed. The door is still held by the top runner. Removal of 2 or 3 screws from the runner in the ceiling on the bathroom wall end will allow the runner to be moved enough to let the door slide off the end of the runner. Then replace the runner screws. Store the door where you can find it in case you plan to have company on your next trip, or in case you are selling the RV.

The cosmetic appearance is really very acceptable, and the extra room will be appreciated by whomever sleeps on the far side of the bed.
