Air Ride for Fruit

Considering the potholes, railroad tracks, broken pavement, bridge and cement expansion joints, it’s no wonder that my fruit is at the best badly bruised, and at the worst, pulverized (fruit sauce). Then one day after receiving a CD disk in the mail, I had an epiphany.
Why not line the bottom of my lower refrigerator fruit and veggie bins with bubble wrap?
One or two layers of small bubble sheets provide a gentle air ride for the fruit. If it is oversized a bit and runs up the sides of the bin, that helps too. You can either wrap individual pieces (a pain), or use small sheets as “dividers”. The big bubble sheets are OK if you only have a few perishables, but it does take up quite a bit of room in the bin.
It really does help protect the fruit. Not perfect but much better.
