Rexhall tech and travel tips

This idea has been brewing in my mind for a time, so here goes.

I went to my first RV rally, the Rexhall homecoming in October 2000. I wanted to find out more about my Rexhall, and to learn how others had "improved" upon the already excellent design. Show me a perfect product, and I will start to figure out how I can make it better. And it appears I am not alone.

My first goal is to have a list available to all Rexhall owners, but particularly new ones, of ALL the ideas and modifications that others have come up with. Sharing knowledge has always been vitally important to me, and always gives me great pleasure.

My hidden agenda of course is that I personally want to hear about al those great ideas that I know are out there. And as folks add their tips, which many owners have now done, we would develop a compendium of good ideas for others to contemplate.

I am not a mechanic, RV technician, finish carpenter, or even exceptionally handy. Nor am I gifted at writing. But dreaming up ideas and working on my Rexhall fills me with pleasure. And I feel that helping my fellow man and woman as they venture into the "sport" of RVing is my return contribution for the joy it has bestowed upon me.

One thing I have learned is that different folks enjoy different aspects of RVing. For some it is the travel, for some being left alone, for some the rallies, for some the "events" such as Quartzsite, for others the clubs, the administration, the newsletters, the social aspects, and on and on. But my niche is the neat and clever things that others have done to their RV. My opinion is that others share this interest but it is under-represented in the available "literature", particularly for Rexhall. Thus the attempt to present this site and see what kind of a reception/reaction occurs.

There are two primary Rexhall sites. The first is www.rexhall.com  which is the Company’s web page. In addition to details about their products, their company newsletter always has some interesting technical articles.

The second is the Rexhall Club website,  www.rexhallrvc.org    Recently, Bob Owens has taken over as webmaster and is building a tech and tips section. The Family Motor Coach Association www.fmca.com  has a number of chapters, one of which is Rexhall International, the official location of the Rexhall Club. The Club is independent of Rexhall Industries, but is strongly supported by the Company, as anyone who has been to the Rexhall Lancaster Homecoming Rally in the fall can attest. There are about 1000 members of the Club. There is a quarterly Club newsletter, which often includes a technical column.

This site is not intended to compete with the other two sites. It is a niche site for those interested in what it contains. It would be my hope that as more technically knowledgeable people contribute, the value of the site will increase.

To start this off, I have written a couple dozen "improvements" that we have made to our Rexhall Aerbus. A couple of them are not too bad, but several are pretty corny, so I hope you will send in your tips to replace my not so good ones. The idea is to have the tips Rexhall specific, but my position is that most anything done to your Rexhall (or other brand) would count. Send in your ideas even if they won’t turn the RV industry upside down. The main point is sharing information and having fun. Let us all be a part of sharing and saving all those great ideas that are out there.
